EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b).

I had the opportunity to be trained in EMDR by Francine Shapiro just after she first developed the protocol. At the time, I was working at CAARE project. She needed Volunteers to test her method. I worked through a devastating trauma with her and I knew then, that EMDR was a deep healing method.

What kind of problems can it treat?

  • Anxiety

  • Stress reduction

  • Trauma

  • Self Sabotage

  • Complicated Grief and Loss

  • Addictions

  • Sexual and physical abuse

  • Car Accident trauma

  • Disturbing Memories

  • Depression

EFT

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Dr. Roger Callahan's Thought Field Therapy or TFT. TFT was to become the father of EFT and also of numerous other methods in the field that we call today "energy psychology".

EFT works by tapping on the meridians in the body, similar to acupressure, releasing stuck energy to bring relief from:

  • stress

  • relaxation and calm

  • fears

  • anxieties

  • anger

  • depression

  • guilt and resentment

This simple method is powerful and can be learned and used as a tool in between sessions at home.
